We’re Still Not Over This Keith Haring x Disney Mickey Mouse Collab for Coach

The collection featuring reimaginings of everyone's favorite mouse is sure to help conjure up a smile...

A special edition collaboration brings together three American icons, Coach, Disney and late artist Keith Haring. The collection features illustrations of Mickey Mouse by one of the world's most well-known street art legends. It includes bags crafted in glove tanned leather topped with Mickey’s ears, a shearling jacket, totes and sweatshirts, as well as Haring’s “Andy Mouse.” This artwork features the creative’s personal hero, Andy Warhol, drawn as everyone’s favourite mouse.

The eye-catching campaign, starring Coach family and friends Kaia Gerber, Cole Sprouse, Kōki, Xiao Wen Ju and Myles O’Neal, was created in collaboration with photographer Alessandro Simonetti.

And it shows the international cast on streets that reflect the energy of downtown New York during the 1980s, the period Haring was living there and creating his murals and graffiti-style art. In the campaign images, Spouse is wearing a black sweatshirt with a bold red and gold Mickey plastered on the back, while Gerber looks super cute in a beige, yellow and red shearling jacket with a Mickey picture on the pocket, with a red and white striped Mickey T-shirt showing under. O'Neal, meanwhile models a mini backpack, as Ju is spotted in a sweatshirt dress and a crossbody bag starring Mickey. Then there’s Kōki, who plays it down in a black skirt and classic white Mickey T-shirt.

“Sometimes the best design comes from the most unlikely juxtapositions, and I can’t think of a cultural clash that brings me more joy than Mickey Mouse and Keith Haring,” Stuart Vevers, Coach’s Creative Director, said. “Ahead of its time when it was first made, this art feels so timely today as we can celebrate and appreciate the diverse work of great creators whoever they may be, without social boundaries. As my collections over the years have shown, I love Disney and I love Keith Haring, so this collaboration makes for my ultimate treat.”

The collection distinctively highlights the Pennsylvania-raised artist’s philosophy. Haring, who had an interest in semiotics, believed art should be for everyone. He also often explored the tension between originality and pop culture in his work.

To introduce the collection, the leading design house of modern luxury accessories and lifestyle collections also launched the Disney Mickey Mouse x Coach Exploratorium. The interactive digital experience is where customers can watch exclusive videos featuring stars of the campaign Gerber and Kōki, plus learn more about Haring, Mickey and the collection. Additionally, they can shop physical and digital products and create some Haring-style street art.
