The North Face x Gucci: A Collection Celebrating Off-The-Beaten-Path Fashion

Regional influencers were invited to show what stylish adventures are all about…

The North Face is officially the first partner Gucci’s Alessandro Michele has collaborated with since he became Creative Director. With both brands having similar history and values, including an eco-sustainable stance, and many of us finding consolation while surrounded by nature during the pandemic, it isn’t a surprising choice. And it’s amazing news for fashion loving adventure seekers.

Those living in or visiting Dubai can even check out the exciting collab that celebrates the spirit of exploration up close and personal by using the Gucci pin to find the pop-up store in the Mall of The Emirates. This is where the pieces that feature The North Face’s outdoor discovery-ready expertise and Michele’s artistic flair will be available until February 22.

To mark the regional launch of the collection that’s all about adventure, the duo took some of our favourite Dubai-based influencers, Dima Al Sheikhly, Hannah Rsk and Leena Al Ghouti on an exciting road trip to Jabal Jais. Mohammed and Humaid Habdan, aka Twins Hadban, also got an invite to the action-packed field trip.

Being a renowned spot for escapade enthusiasts, where everything from camping, hiking and cycling to ziplining is possible, Jabal Jais was undoubtedly the most perfect location to celebrate the collaboration in the region. And, of course, the breath-taking vistas from the UAE’s highest peak, part of the spectacular Hajar mountain range, created an amazing backdrop for some of the most followed influencers to reveal some of the must-have pieces.

The Collection
The expansive collection includes vivid-hued down puffer jackets, centred on the original The North Face ones from the 1970s, with some decorated with new floral designs created for the collection. Unisex hiking boots, stamped with a new collaborative logo, windbreakers and fleeces are also part of the collection.

A series of bags and backpacks emblazoned with the new logo, which combines The North Face’s three curved lines and the signature green and red Gucci Web stripe, and new patterns can also be found.

And as well as T-shirts, sweatshirts and even goose-down skirts and a jumpsuit, there are signature pieces from both brands that have been given a makeover to unify them. For example, The North Face’s Nuptse vest is covered in vintage Gucci chains, while the luxury Italian house’s characteristic pussy-bow blouse is plastered in The North Face logo. Additionally, the collection, which features a colour palette sourced from The North Face’s material archives, actually boasts monogrammed tents and sleeping bags.
