The Dubai Fitness Challenge Is Right Around The Corner

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan is spearheading the month-long challenge.

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is helming the Dubai Fitness Challenge for the fourth year, has played a key role in motivating his public as he encourages them to participate this year.

The upcoming 30-day fitness event is a matter of a few days away and in recent video that was posted on Twitter, the Emirati royal challenged the citizens and residents of Dubai as he said, “My challenge to you…30 minutes of activity for 30 days wherever you are... whenever you can…make a change…take the challenge from 30 October – 28 November 2020.” The video also features a montage of people of all ages participating in a number of sports in Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan launched the Dubai Fitness Challenge in 2017 to encourage residents to lead healthier and more active lifestyles – and with the weather in Dubai cooling down, people are also encouraged to spend more time outdoors.

The fitness challenge calls for people to participate in 30 minutes of physical activity per day, for 30 days, however, this year’s event will be a little different to previous years as social distancing regulations must be maintained.

Despite the strict rules, Dubai residents can partake in both virtual and in person activities, challenges and wellness classes.

Speaking about the 30x30 challenge previously, Dubai’s crown prince said, “Dubai is a city that recognizes the importance of physical, mental and social wellbeing, and constantly strives to provide everyone opportunities for an active lifestyle. All it takes for you to succeed is an unyielding pledge to enjoy 30 minutes of activity for 30 days. I challenge each and every one of you to embrace your fitness journey and make a difference in your life. Together, let’s make the UAE the most active country in the world.”
