Meet Sarah Al-Enezi, A Female Ambulance Driver in Saudi Arabia

Upon her appointment by King Abdullah Medical City, Sarah Al-Enezi became an ambulance driver in Saudi Arabia and among the firsts holding this position.

In an interview with the "Ya Hala" program on the Rotana channel, Sarah recalled scholarship at the Jordan University of Science and Technology through the King Abdullah Scholarship Program, where she graduated in 2017.

Sarah said: "My father supports me, he calls me the doctor of the house, since childhood I was interested in treating the injured." She also explained that "this field is male-dominated, and I broke this pattern when l started working as a paramedic. I enrolled in an ambulance driving course, and joined the field to help my colleagues in treating patients."

When the pandemic first hit the Kingdom, Al-Enezi said: "This period was hard for us as a first line of defense, because we were the first to encounter the patient and there was still no clear way of transmission."
