Sheikh Hamdan’s Fitness Initiative Is Back This Month

Dubai’s 30 x 30 challenge is an initiative that was launched in 2017 by Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, and is returning this month for its fourth edition.

Beginning on October 30th and running for 30 days until November 28th 2020, the Dubai Fitness Challenge encourages Dubai’s residents to participate in a physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day, for 30 days in a bid to inspire people to lead healthier lifestyles.

Moreover, from the 30th of October, Dubai residents can partake in a number of free events for health, fitness, and wellbeing. In previous years, Dubai has hosted a variety of free challenges, classes, and activities for residents to be able to try new outdoor sports and this year, several gyms are also hosting classes including, HIIT, Pilates, yoga, and Zumba - just to name a few.

Last year, over 1.1 million people in Dubai took part in the 30x30 Dubai Fitness Challenge events, as dedicated spots at Festival City Mall and Kite Beach also hosted daily exercises. Famous fitness guru, Joe Wicks, known as the Body Coach led the largest ever HIIT class at Skydive Dubai in 2019. For those who prefer to work out indoors in the comfort of their own homes, the Dubai Fitness Challenge website also has many challenges and virtual activities to take part in!

Registration details about the upcoming month-long event will be released toward the end of October and it should be noted that all the Dubai Fitness Challenge events will be abiding by the government health and safety guidelines.
