The New Expo 2020’s Countdown Kicks Off

Expo 2020 was rescheduled in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the official one year countdown to the highly anticipated global event has just started.

Beginning the countdown once again, the organizers of Expo 2020 are cooking up innovative ways to encourage initiatives based on healthcare, global connectivity, and travelling in order to make living with the pandemic as seamless as possible.

Expo 2020 will now begin on October 1st 2021 and will run up until March 31st 2022 under the theme of sustainability.

Reem Al Hashimy, the UAE Minister of State for International Co-operation and director-general of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau, said in an official statement, “Our leadership has spared no effort, guided us, and provided all resources to ensure that our World Expo will be a true expression of the UAE’s values, reflecting its ambition to build a better future for us, the region and the world – a future of which coming generations will be proud,” she stated. “Our World Expo has a mission to inspire hope, and in the coming weeks we will begin to share new details and ideas about space, health and wellness, travel and connectivity, and other subjects that sit at the heart of this Expo.”

The sites for Expo 2020 have been underway for some time now, and in spite of the pandemic being a disruption to plans, the country pavilions will be finished and ready before the end of 2020. Hundreds and thousands of people from all over the world are expected to attend this world-class event to discover what institutions, governments, and global businesses are working on.

Moreover, there will be projects focused on agricultural, health, energy and sustainability sectors that look to provide solutions to consistent global challenges faced by every country.
