KSA’s Muna Abu Sulayman Joins Gucci’s Board For Global Equity

A leading Saudi woman, Muna Abu Sulayman, needs no introduction.

Muna Abu Sulayman, Saudi media personality & all-around inspiring public figure, landed herself a well-deserved spot in Gucci’s Global Equity Board.

The renowned Saudi woman announced on LinkedIn her board appointment to the luxury maison, adding another notch to her corporate belt

Over the last year, Gucci has been focused on becoming a diverse and inclusive business, and Muna wrote in her announcement, “their mission is create a sense of belonging where each individual is valued and able to contribute and thrive.” Sulayman has previously worked with Gucci through “Chime for Change,” which is an initiative launched by Gucci for Gender Equality, which supports hundreds of female organizations and projects all over the world.

Abu Sulayman founded and co-hosted the MBC TV social program, “Kalam Nawaem,” one of the most-watched social programs by Arabs worldwide. In the corporate world, Muna started working in Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal's Kingdom Holdings Company and served as the Executive manager of Strategic Studies and Research Initiatives. With no previous experience in this role, she remained determined to make it her own.

In 2006 she took on the task of building the Alwaleed bin Talal foundation, previously known as “Kingdom Foundation.” This foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Kingdom Holding Company. Her expertise earned her the revered role of Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and landed her the title of the world's most influential Muslims.

The Saudi feminist also stood out when she became the first Saudi woman to become Goodwill Ambassador in the United Nations Development Program in 2009. Her list of impressive achievements goes on and we wish Muna AbuSulayman the best on her new venture with Gucci.
