Barkha Beauty has come up with a lip gloss collection that does a lot more than help you look gorgeous all day. Proceeds from every sale of a Barka Beauty For Beirut pack by the Dubai-based beauty brand will go towards rebuilding Beirut and the livelihoods affected by the August 4 explosion in the Lebanese capital.
Just like all Barkha Beauty lipsticks, the Lip Plumping Lip Gloss range is cruelty and paraben-free, suitable for all skin types and can be ordered from anywhere in the world. And as well as endowing lips with a hint of colour via the Nude, Pink and Shimmer Gold shades, the rich products offer all-day hydration and moisture.
Finding it difficult to find the right matte nude lip colour and other beauty products like foundation due to suffering from eczema, Barkha Shewakramani had the idea to start her own beauty line. The eponymous brand she launched in 2019 with the aim of offering affordable, good quality and hypoallergenic products that are responsibly focused quickly became a leading player in the cruelty-free cosmetics segment in the Middle East.
For its introductory line of liquid matte lipsticks, which has shades ranging from nude to power red, Shewakramani worked hard to find the perfect finish that wouldn’t dry lips. And with A-listers like Sofia Richie, Bella Thorne, Rita Ora, Halima Aden, and Hailey Baldwin spotted in the lipstick made for all skin tones, she seems to have found a spot-on luxurious and moisturising formula.
There are plans to expand the range of products, which just happens to be run by females. “Understanding the demand of today’s women, Barkha Beauty will soon be launching a range of organic products owing to the rich Indian heritage,” Shewakramani said in a statement. Innovative air brush foundations, as well as eye shadows and make-up brushes are on the list of anticipated new launches, which will undoubtedly feature the most natural ingredients.
As well as ensuring her developed in Europe products are responsibly made, Shewakramani donates some of the profits to her favourite charities, like the Hothur Foundation that gives a voice to acid attack survivors. While creating a name for herself as a fashion designer through her label Drama Queen, she worked hard to raise money and awareness for lupus sufferers.
