The World’s Largest Painting Is Underway In Dubai

This piece of art is set to raise $30 million for charity in Dubai!

The “World’s Largest Canvas Painting” is on its way to being completed by British artist, Sacha Jafri, in the name of charity. The enormous painting is being produced in a ballroom in Dubai’s infamous luxury hotel, Atlantis, The Palm, and spans around 1,800 square meters. To put that into perspective, it’s the size of two full football fields! Jafri’s painting will be revealed in November when it will go to auction and hopefully raise the target amount of USD30 million for charity.

As we know it, the masterpiece is titled, “The Journey of Humanity,” and once it is finished, will be split into 60 separate pieces which will then be framed and sold individually.

To make the piece even more unique, Sacha Jafri has invited children from all over the world to submit their own pieces of art work using the theme of “isolation/separation,” which will be placed on the canvas as the first layer of the painting. Jafri stated, “I am calling each youngster out there, to create a piece of art. A drawing, a sketch, a collage, a painting that represents how you feel right now. Paint the world as you see it lived. Let’s paint the world a different color.”

A great day with His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan announcing his official Patronage of my Painting 'The Journey of Humanity' (the Largest Painting ever Created on Canvas) and our Project: 'Humanity Inspired'. Aiming to raise $30million USD, from the auctioning of my Painting, to help change the lives of the poorest and most in-need children of our world. Always such a pleasure talking with His Highness Sheikh Nahyan and His Excellency Dr. Tariq Al Gurg about our like-minded ideals and hopes for the future of our planet, in our efforts to connect the world, regardless of race, colour, creed, religion, faith, financial or social status etc; bringing ALL humanity together as One World, One Soul, One Planet. Bringing us together through the Hearts, Minds & Souls of Our Children. Thank you to His Highness for your time, your grace and your generosity of thought, support and action; we are all truly humbled by your heart-felt Patronage of this special project and together I know we will paint the world a different colour and bring us all to a better tomorrow.
