Michelle Obama is the first lady millions of people all over the world are continually inspired and intrigued by, and following the release of her book, “Becoming,” in 2018 and last year’s Netflix documentary of the same name, she has just launched her own Spotify podcast and we cannot wait!
With “The Michelle Obama Podcast” also having a focus on discussing relationships, a topic amongst many, it goes without saying that her very first guest is none other than former President of the United States, her husband, Barack Obama. Premiered on July 29th 2020, the debut episode of the exciting podcast will feature the iconic couple holding a rather intimate conversation about love, relationships, community, and life after eight years in the White House.
In the introduction of the forthcoming podcast, Michelle states, “For eight years my life was full of crazy schedules, juggling big initiatives, speeches, state dinners - Not to mention trying to raise two daughters and keeping my head above water. But once Barack’s second term ended, the presidency was over and finally had some time to breathe.”
The Michelle Obama Podcast promises to cover a variety of topics, from relationships, women’s health, marriage and even mentorship, the nine-episode series will also feature several well-known guests including, Valerie Jarrett, Conan O’Brien, and Michele Norris amongst others. In a statement about the series, Michelle adds, “My hope is that this series can be a place to explore meaningful topics together and sort through so many of the questions we’re all trying to answer in our own lives. Most of all, I hope this podcast will help listeners open new conversations—and hard conversations—with the people who matter most to them. That’s how we can build more understanding and empathy for one another.”
The Michelle Obama Podcast is the first series to come from the partnership between Spotify and Higher Ground, which is the Obamas’ very own production company.
