Moynat was founded in 1849 by Pauline Moynat who was the first female malletier of her time. The unique brand became known for its iconic “automobile trunks,” which were custom-made to fit the contours of a client’s vehicle and easy to carry when travelling on steam trains.

After closing down in the 1970’s, Moynat made a comeback in 2011 after LVMH's Bernard Arnault purchased the name and revived the all-but-forgotten leather goods brand under the creative direction of Ramesh Nair.

With his design team he will contribute to the continuing renewal of Moynat while at the same time working closely with the development teams. British designer, Knightly, is a graduate from Ravensbourne College of Art and Design and was previously Head Designer at Margaret Howell and since 2002, Design Director at quintessential British luxury label, Mulberry before moving to Louis Vuitton in 2004 where he held the position of Creative Director of Leather Goods.

We can’t wait to see what the designer has in store for the much loved Parisian luxury brand.
