Huda Beauty Joins Forces With Doctors Without Borders

The makeup brand donated $150K to the international organization...

In light of the global crisis surrounding COVID-19, the Huda Beauty team has been exploring ways to continue to give back. After launching an initiative where Founder Huda Kattan pledged $200k to support freelance MUAs unable to work during the pandemic, Huda Beauty’s next charitable effort supports an organization that is near and dear to the hearts of the Kattan family: Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).  Continuously supporting MSF with donations and social media amplifications since 2016, Huda Beauty’s most recent effort pledges to donate $150,000 and encourage others to support doctors working to fight COVID-19 around the world.

“Working with Doctors Without Borders has been so important for us because our family were immigrants and several of our extended family members and friends have been made refugees by political crises in their home countries. So we really empathize with all underserved communities who either don’t have access to or aren’t able to afford healthcare. That’s why for us, the work that MSF does is so crucial and when it came time to choose which charity organization we wanted to get behind to fight the COVID-19 crisis, they were the first people that came to mind and we’re so proud to be partnering with them,” said Huda and Mona Kattan

Focused on supporting those most often neglected during public health crises, MSF medical teams are working in over 70 countries, including India, Iraq, Spain, Syria, Burkina Faso and Brazil, whilst responding to the pandemic on multiple fronts such as caring for patients, offering health education and mental health support, distributing personal protective equipment, providing vital training in infection control measures, and protecting those most vulnerable and at risk such as the elderly, refugees and migrants, and homeless people.

MSF’s response to COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, focuses on three main priorities: Supporting health authorities to provide care for patients with COVID-19, protecting people who are vulnerable and at-risk, and keeping essential medical services running.

Huda Beauty is supporting Doctors Without Borders by matching the donations made through the Huda Beauty website, with their donation totaling $150,000 USD in matched funds to the Doctors Without Borders COVID-19 Relief Fund. “Whether you’re staying home, supporting local businesses who may be struggling, putting a smile on the face of your loved ones, or making a donation of any size to charities like Doctors Without Borders – we know that every little act of kindness will make a big difference in the lives of those struggling,” say the Kattan sisters.
