The UAE Ranks In The Top 10 For Its Exemplary Treatment Of COVID-19

The UAE has been taking extreme measures when it comes to protecting its residents and citizens against the novel coronavirus pandemic, and as part of that, the country has been in lockdown as a national sterilization program takes place.

Before the latest eases in lockdown, the country’s leaders have restricted people from leaving their homes, required permits to do so, suspended public transport and have made it compulsory to wear a mask. These precautions are only some of the efforts collectively taken to this day to deter the spread of the novel virus. With the rest of the world also making efforts to flatten the curve and battle the virus, the Global Response to Infectious Disease (GRID) table has ranked the efforts of various countries and the UAE earned itself a spot in the top 10.

Initiated by Australia’s Institute of Certified Management Accountants, GRID calculated the competence and effectiveness of any given country leadership's actions to tackle the coronavirus pandemic and assessed how their healthcare systems are managing on the front lines.

The UAE ranked at ninth position on this list, with New Zealand at the number one spot. Following New Zealand are Singapore, Iceland, Australia, Finland, Norway, Canada, and South Korea. Other countries that sit in ninth position alongside the UAE include Sri Lanka, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan, closely followed by China, Russia, India, Brazil and United States.

It only goes to show that the efforts of the likes of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and other leaders of the UAE have been effective in containing the spread of the virus, which has claimed the lives of many all over the world. From social distancing to sanitizing the streets, the UAE’s governments are working in solidarity to ensure the safety of their country and urging citizens to “act responsibly.”
