Best Jewellery at Cannes 2017: Celebrities Sparkle Their Way through the Red Carpet

Statement necklaces have been all the rage sur la Croisette, but there’s something to be said about the breathtakingly dainty pieces too.

The Cannes Film Festival has been a stage to showcase the most spectacular jewellery since it started in 1946. And there certainly hasn’t been a shortage of exquisite pieces on the red carpet this year. Click through the gallery to see some of the most stunning necklaces, earrings and rings on show.


Italian actress Sveva Alviti, who has made waves for playing Dalida, opted to place the focus on her Messika Paris high jewellery “Flappers” necklace from the new collection "Paris est une Fête." It sparkled flawlessly against her strapless purple gown.

 


Hailey Baldwin lit up the red carpet during the opening ceremony. The American model, whose father is actor Stephen Baldwin, paired her purple dress with de GRISOGONO “Ventaglio” earrings, ring and bracelet in pink gold set with icy white diamonds.

 


Portuguese top model Sara Sampaio stunned in her red gown, which she styled with de GRISOGONO high jewellery white diamond earrings, a ring in white gold set with white diamonds and a “Florinda” bracelet.

 


Lebanese blogger Lana Sahely teamed her strapless embellished dress with a Chopard necklace from the “Temptations” collection. It featured a pear-shaped tanzanite, spinels, sapphires, morganites, rubellites tanzanites, pink tourmalines, amethysts, diamonds, coloured diamonds and rubies.

 


American model Kendall Jenner dazzled in a pair of Chopard white gold earrings from the “2017 Red Carpet’ collection set with diamonds. She also wore a white gold ring featuring round brilliant-cut diamonds and diamonds from the “High Jewellery” collection with her one-shoulder creation.

 


Czech model Petra Nemcova dazzled in white gold Chopard earrings and bracelet set with sapphires and diamonds from the “High Jewellery” collection. They perfectly matched her dress.

 


British-Thai actress Araya Hargate stood out in a Chopard platinum necklace featuring a pear- shaped emerald and diamonds from the “High Jewellery” collection. She also wore a pair of white gold earrings with emeralds and diamonds from the “2017 Red Carpet” collection with her red dress.

 


Australian actress Nicole Kidman was a vision in Harry Winston jewellery during “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” premiere. She wore round brilliant diamond studs, a diamond bracelet and two diamond rings with her black and white outfit. 

 


Wearing her hair in a braided up-do enabled Jasmine Sanders to really show off this old-style Bulgari choker, with gold, diamonds and multi-coloured gems, from the “Heritage” collection. The American model killed it while attending “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” premiere.

 


Anja Rubik dazzled in a diamond and onyx Boucheron necklace during the premiere of “The Killing of a Sacred Deer.” The Polish model wore it with a strapless number, making it really stand out.

 


American actress and activist Eva Longoria Bastón caused a stir in champagne-hued waterfall diamond earrings by Lorraine Schwartz for the premiere of “The Killing of a Sacred Deer.” They set off her embellished dress faultlessly.

 


Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor’s sister Rhea designed the customised Kalyan Jewellers tourmaline haat phools and shoulder duster earrings, which matched her pink gown. The had-turning statement 18th century and Victorian era- inspired pieces also had diamonds, fresh water pearls and polki diamonds in rose gold and some white gold.

 


Isabelle Huppert was as classy as ever in a diamond “Serpenti” necklace by Bulgari. The French actress wore the necklace with her soft pink gown while attending “The Meyerowitz Stories” premiere.

 


Jourdan Dunn rocked in Messika Paris at Naomi Campbell's Fashion For Relief event. The English model and actress wore the “My Twin” multi-shapes earrings with a “Move Romane” double ring to complement her sparkling dress.

 


Emily Ratajkowski stepped out in a dazzling Bulgari high jewellery bib necklace for the “Ismael’s Ghosts” premiere. The American model wore the necklace from the “Heritage” collection, which was set with rubies, diamonds and a huge cabochon emerald, with her glamorous slip dress.

 


Famous model Bella Hadid paired her satin gown with a show-stopping Bulgari necklace featuring a big sugarloaf cabochon sapphire set with pavé diamonds. The star also wore a matching rectangular cut sapphire ring surrounded by pavé diamonds to the opening ceremony.

 


American actress and Piaget Ambassador Jessica Chastain was shining in a Piaget art deco-style ruby and diamond necklace. She was wearing the piece from the new 2017 high jewellery collection called “Sunlight Journey” with her strapless dress during the opening ceremony.

 


The sublime Hugarian model Barbara Palvin is having fun in the iconic AKILLIS white diamond “Python” collection set.

 


Dutch model Lara Stone is a vision in AKILLIS high jewellery “Cruella” earrings with morganite stones and white diamonds.
