20 Times The Most-In-Demand Models Made Us Stop And Stare At The 2020 Paris Haute Couture Shows

Until Paris Fashion Week kicks off again on February 24, here's a precious throwback to the last couture week...

Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week may be well over, but we still can’t get over the seriously jaw-dropping looks that filled the runways for spring/summer 2020. And the four-day fashion extravaganza just wouldn’t have been as spectacular without all those gorgeously entertaining moments from our favourite models.

A number of the fashion industry’s most famous faces helped Jean-Paul Gaultier present his last couture show with a bang. As the French couturier, who has been in the fashion game for 50 years, showcased his electric 250-piece collection, there was an all-star cast, whether runway legends or today’s supermodels, including Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss, Erin O'Connor and Yasmin Le Bon. While Irina Shayk and burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese were spotted in the mould-breaking designer’s famed satin corsets, Coco Rocha performed a high-kicking Irish dance down the runway.

Gigi and Bella Hadid also helped the fashion visionary take his final bow, with the older sibling slaying in a rework of the prolific designer’s signature marinières Breton stripes and pleated white pants. Farida Khelfa, another model with Arab roots, also rocked in a trouser look, chicly accessorised with a tie.

Additionally, Bella and Joan made an impression in hot suit looks at the Alexandre Vauthier show, with Bella going braless in a plunging pinstriped white blazer, while Joan strutted down in a cool tuxedo look.

Kaia Gerber stunned as an angelic bride during the romantic Givenchy show, which was inspired by Clare Waight Keller’s memories while visiting the garden rooms at Sissinghurst Castle and reading the love letters between Vita Sackville-West and Virginia Woolf. The 18-year-old model also made waves in another white dress, this time in a convent schoolgirl style, at the Chanel show. Another young model of the moment, Moroccan-British Nora Attal, also added her magic touch to the show that saw Virginie Viard take creative cues from the flowers, uniforms and stained-glass artistry of the ancient Cistercian Abbey of Aubazine, which was home to a young Coco Chanel after her mother died. The dark-haired beauty stormed the catwalk for Dior too, in one of the goddess-like looks created by Maria Grazia Chiuri and landmark feminist artist Judy Chicago.

Click through to see all the models’ head-turning moments, including Winnie Harlow wowing in a flowing green off-the-shoulder gown. Inspired by the Ralph & Russo archives, the dress featured an empire silhouette and a theatrical gathering at the bodice.
