Did You Know: Harvard University Holds A Reference To The Quran

Now that's a cool discovery...

One of the world’s notable educational institutions, Harvard University ranked 3rd in the world in 2019 and its law school's library holds a holy reference to the Quran.

The Ivy League's community can spot the phrase at the entrance of the library, alongside some of the greatest expressions regarding justice. It's none other than the Quran’s verse 135 of Surat Al Nisaa (The Women), which is revered for its elevation and empowerment of women.

In times of rise in Islamophobia, it's a little-known fact to the western world that Islam has been enforcing women’s rights since it emerged. Islam stands among the first religions to discuss equal rights between men and women, equal treatment, women’s rights to work, and more. It's wonderful to see that Harvard Law School continues to credit Islam’s references to justice and the quote reads:

"O ye who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both."

"It reflects a hope that the aspirations and ideals expressed here will continue to inspire all who struggle for laws that are just," read the Harvard Law School's website on the quote.  The educational institution also hosts a collaborative exhibition between students and university staff, Words of Justice, which is a tribute to humanity and fairness through law.  Harvard Law School was first established in 1817 and is one of the oldest and most famous in world history and what's more, it boasts the largest law library in the world too.
