Zoom In: The Best Fashion Forward Dubai Street Style

Discover the latest regional street style trends from fashion lovers spotted on the streets of Dubai Design District…

Fashion Forward Dubai October 2019 edition introduced us to buzzy up-and-coming designers like Jessica Khoueiri, who paid homage to Lebanon after hosting her first-ever runway show. The sartorial spectacle also included shows by designers who made important issues like sustainability (thanks, Roni Helou) and inclusivity a priority. Did you spot Saudi model Shahad Salman strutting down the catwalk for Arwa Al-Banawi or Ameni Esseibi, the Arab world’s first plus-sized model, doing the same for Mrs. Keepa? Plus, of course there were the dreamy couture wonders from returning favourites Yousef Aljasmi, Michael Cinco and Furne One of AMATO Couture, with the latter treating us to an artistically ‘wrapped’ set design and an immaculately polished show while closing the much-anticipated event. The diverse range of d3 talks, masterclasses and The Garden’s pop-up stores also ensured there wasn’t a dull moment at the four-day fashion extravaganza.

And to switch things up even more, influencers, editors and fashion enthusiasts turned the bustling streets of Dubai Design District, d3, into their own runway as they showed off their individual style through their chic ensembles. The diverse crowd, who were dressed to impress while attending the jam-packed weekend of fashion shows and talks, provided us with heaps of outfit inspiration.

This season, many attendees seemed to favour a blend of edgy and urban styles, as well as flowy, bohemian looks. When it came to the colour palette, there was a conspicuous partiality for black and white combinations, in addition to summer-themed hues like vibrant prints and popping yellows. While loading up on accessories, the style-conscious visitors opted for boxy, oversized sunnies, classic bags and statement necklaces.
