Chanel and Hollywood A-Listers Champion Women in Film

Chanel just hosted a luncheon at Locanda Verde in New York last week to celebrate the fifth annual “Through her Lens: The Tribeca Chanel Filmmaker Program”. The 3 day event is comprised of workshops, master classes, one-on-one mentorship, and more for 10 emerging female filmmakers, and this year’s ambassadors included Kristine Forseth and actress Katie Holmes.

Encouraging and empowering, the program also grants funds for production and development of the films being created by the selected filmmakers. In its 5th edition, the women partaking in the program include director, Sam Taylor Johnson, actress, Catherine Keener and Amy Hobby of the Tribeca Film Institute.

Last week’s event saw the likes of Anna Baryshnikov, Dianna Agron, Emily Mortimer, Marisa Tomei and Glenn Close adorned in Chanel, dining on Italian cuisine and immersing themselves in conversation with other members of the female led film community. Chanel has always had an affinity with women in film and some of the other ambassadors of this particular project and program have included, director, Sophia Coppola and Penelope Cruz.
