Coldplay Set To Launch Their New Album in Jordan in a Major Concert

The end of November will see one of the world’s greatest British bands take to the stage in Jordan for two major concerts to endorse their latest double album, entitled, “Everyday Life.” The band, best known for their hits including Viva La Vida, Yellow and The Scientist, will perform the entire 53-minute album in Amman. On the 22nd of November, Coldplay fans in Jordan will celebrate the international release of their eighth album in the Jordanian city.

The new album is split into two halves, “Sunrise,” and “Sunset,” and the band will be performing at those particular times in Jordan. It hasn’t yet been revealed where the concerts will take place or when tickets would be going on sale, but Coldplay will be streaming both of the gigs on YouTube so that fans around the world can enjoy the band’s global release of “Everyday Life.” In a statement to press, Coldplay said, “These two broadcasts have been our dream since we first started work on this album. It’s a bit impossible and a bit scary, like all the best dreams.” Whilst promoting the forthcoming album, the band took a retro stance, sending signed postcards to fans and releasing grainy music videos that seem to be shot on a hand held camera along with a “parody press release on YouTube to the tracklist announcement printed in the band members’ local newspapers amongst classified ads.”

The British band shared their delight at being able to launch their album in Jordan and why they picked the Middle Eastern destination, “We’re really excited to launch our new album in Jordan. It has always felt like the perfect place for these two special shows,” adding that they chose Jordan for its “natural beauty and historical and cultural significance, while also reflecting the middle eastern flavors and motifs that permeate the album’s music and artwork.”

Dr. Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat, Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, said of Coldplay’s forthcoming album release, “I am excited this launch will showcase Jordan to the world in the light that it deserves hand in hand with international music icons who carry similar values and messages as the people of my country. Having been picked by Coldplay to represent the spirituality and harmonious togetherness their music encompasses, wasn’t that farfetched, as Jordan is a true advocate of peace.”

The world famous rock band’s latest album also has some major Middle Eastern influences as it features the Arabic translation of its title on the record’s cover art, “Al Hayah Al Yawmeya” as well as a few songs in the track list referencing the Arab region. One of the songs from the album is written in Arabic script and entitled, “Bani Adam,” (Children of Adam), which is possibly referencing a Persian poet Saadi Shirazi of the 13th century.

Another song from the highly anticipated album is entitled, “Arabesque” and it’s video reveals a record player with the words “peace and love” in Arabic emblazoned on it with the symbolic star and crescent moon icons that are often used to represent Islam.
