Emirati Nationals Can Now Travel to Lebanon

Emirati passport holders can now travel to Lebanon following a 2-year ban.

This week, Lebanese Prime Minister, Saad Hariri visited Abu Dhabi for a meeting with the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, where the decision was made that Emiratis could now resume travelling to Lebanon immediately.

This decision was praised and appreciated by Lebanese officials, especially since Lebanon has been suffering in some ways economically for some time, and delighted, the Lebanese Minister of Tourism, Avedis Guidanian said of the progressive move, "First, this step will lead to the return of Emirati tourists, and secondly it will encourage the return of UAE investments, which in turn will increase tourism spending.”


Rabbit Islands, Lebanon

A decision was made by the UAE in November 2017 to dissuade Emirati citizens from travelling to Lebanon. Several GCC countries warned their nationals against visiting the country due to political “instability.” The ban was lifted this week when the Lebanese Prime Minister visited the UAE capital.
