How Saudi National Day Is About To Be Celebrated in the UAE

Saudi Arabians living in the UAE need not feel all of the FOMO for their forthcoming annual Saudi National Day, as the UAE prepares for a 5-day celebration. From firework displays at The Pointe at Palm Jumeirah or The Beach on JBR, to Dubai Festival City Mall’s attraction, Imagine, which is set to light up with lasers, lights, fire displays, and more to the sounds of traditional Saudi Arabian music, and display of colours.

Saudi National Day in the UAE wouldn’t be complete without the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, lighting up the skyline with a light show celebrating the Saudi Arabian flag, whilst the dancing fountain display will take place against the sound of the kingdom’s national anthem.

Not only that, Saudi musicians will also perform a plethora of traditional songs, including recitals by Ramy Abdallah, Ismail Mubarak and Yemeni artist, Fouad AbdelWahad between the 21st-22nd September at the Dubai Mall. Across the UAE, Saudi nationals will be in for a treat as a number of malls and stores will be offering them discounts, as well as discounted rates for Saudi Arabians at hotels in Dubai.

It doesn’t stop there, as Dubai’s infamous City Walk will be hosting a spectacular show, featuring singer Balqees Fathi on September 19th, and the following day, Shamma Hamdan will take to the stage at La Mer.  The UAE has been known to celebrate Saudi National Day in style, and last year, Abu Dhabi paid homage by painting the flags of Saudi and the UAE on 88 police cars, with the words ‘Together Forever’, emblazoned across them, symbolizing a positive bond between the two Arab countries.

New York Times Square

The UAE surely celebrates every year, but did you know that the Saudi Arabian Embassy in London was lit up in green and commissioned a firework display, whilst New York’s Times Square displayed photos of Saudi royalty, King Salman and Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman to show solidarity with the kingdom.
