Saudi Designer Eman Alajlan Adds to the Glitz and Glam on the Venice Film Festival 2019 Red Carpet

The designer has been at the forefront of advancing Saudi Arabia as a fashion hub.

While hitting the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival to support A Perfect Candidate, a movie about empowering women, Saudi actresses Mila Alzahrani and Dhay (Dae Al-Hilali) perfectly showed how women from the Kingdom can back each other in real life too. They were both wearing creations from designer Eman Alajlan, another Saudi, while appearing alongside Haifaa Al Mansour, the film’s director.

Dhay, who plays Selma in the film, looked luminous in metallic lilac one-shoulder gown with a ruched bodice. Meanwhile, Alzahrani, who appears as Maryam, the movie's protagonist, also lit up the red carpet in a voluminous and frothy offer-the-shoulder black gown that featured netting around the neckline. The young up-and-coming actress was later seen donning yet another gorgeous gown by Alajlan during the film festival. The head-turning mustard yellow dress featured a slight slit, long sleeves, a black sash and a cut-out at the back.

Alajlan, who has a store in Riyadh, already has a firmly established name in the Middle East and Europe. Specialising in haute couture, bridal and pret-a-porter dresses, she has dressed royalty and countless celebrities. The designer, who entered the fashion field in 2005, is known for her uninhibitedly romantic and delicate designs, allowing nothing less than superior craftsmanship and using exceptional European materials. Whether the dress is princess-like or tiered, it’s also evident attention to every minute detail is a primary concern for Alajlan, who established her eponymous brand in 2007.
