Jennifer Lopez Wears an Egyptian Label for the First Time While Performing in El-Alamein

For her first concert in Egypt, Jenny from the Block paid homage by switching up her wardrobe in a local label.

For her first-ever show in Egypt, Jennifer Lopez recently surprised the audience by taking to the stage in a design by a local label, another first for the American-Puerto Rican songstress.

While recently performing in El-Alamein during her It’s My Party celebratory world tour, the Waiting for Tonight hitmaker donned a dress by Egypt’s Nagwa Zahran. While captivating the crowd in the sold-out arena, Lopez, who is celebrating turning 50, donned a romantic custom-made sparkly scarlet outfit by Zahran. Needless to say, the studded bandeau top, with illusion mesh, and twirling skirt with high-leg slit had everyone taking to social media. The Hustlers star teamed the look with a set of lace-up silver heeled boots.

“A milestone and a dream come true! Proud to be the first Egyptian designer to dress J-Lo," Zahran, who studied fashion in London, wrote on Instagram. The designer, who had her first fashion show in Egypt this March to showcase her SS19 collection, talked to Vogue Arabia, saying: “I was mainly inspired by her as a person. I wanted to design a dress that matched her strong personality and her lively dynamic spirit.” She also said while creating the outfit, they had to think of the time limit for changing in between segments, as well as coming up with something glamorous but easy to perform in.

While singing her chart-topping hits in the coastal town north of Cairo, Lopez, who has Rob Zangardi as her stylist, also wore a number of other impressive looks by designers from the region. Her blue bodysuit was by Lebanese maestro Zuhair Murad, who has dressed her for several red carpet occasions. Dripping in beads, sequins and fringe, the suit featured cut-outs around the bust. Lopez also wowed in a custom-made neon green leotard that featured sheer panels and Swarovski crystals by Nicolas Jebran, another Lebanese designer.

Previously, Lopez, who is engaged to former baseball star Alex Rodriguez, has opted for designs by Elie Saab, Rami Al Ali and Rami Kadi. She also rocked an outfit by Amato Couture, a Dubai-based brand, for her Medicine music video.
