Angelina Jolie Is Marvel's Next Female Superhero

The Marvel Universe delights us time after time. Following the news of a female Muslim Marvel superhero earlier this year, it has just been confirmed that Angelina Jolie will be the next one to appear in the next Marvel movie.

Brian Tyree Henry and Salma Hayek

The news was announced at San Diego’s Comic Con, where Marvel representatives took the chance to announce a number of exciting developments for forthcoming films which all have strong leading female characters, paving the way for a new perspective towards women within the film industry.

Scarlett Johansson

Excitingly enough, Angelina Jolie, who was in attendance at Comic Con in San Diego, confirmed that she would be starring in a movie called The Eternals, which is based on Jack Kirby’s comic book of the same name. Marvel also announced that starring alongside Jolie, would be much loved actors and actresses including, Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Lauren Ridloff, Don Lee, Brian Tyree Henry and Richard Madden, to name just a few.

Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth

That’s not all for Marvel, as it was also confirmed that Scarlett Johansson would be starring as a lead in their May 2020 release, Black Widow, and Natalie Portman will lead in a film yet to be shot, Thor in Thor, Love and Thunder which is set to release in November 2021.
