Princess Reema Channels the Future for Women in a Rockefeller Foundation Campaign

Saudi’s first female Ambassador to the US since 1945, Princess Reema Bint Bandar recently took part in a campaign for the Rockefeller Foundation.

In the video released on Tuesday, as part of the foundation’s “Solvable” campaign which included a number of globally renowned leaders and experts, was focused on them discussing causes and issues that they have an affinity with and what they are doing to help solve those issues.

Princess Reema’s issue was female-centric and we couldn’t be more proud as she recalls her time working in retail, where her female employees would discuss their financial woes with her. That experience made her understand that the women of the kingdom needed to become financially literate in order to be financially independent.

The Saudi royal says in the video campaign, “Today more and more women are entering the workplace, but they still don’t have the education to make the correct financial decisions for themselves…My goal is to educate women on financial literacy,” as she made reference to Alf Khair, a social initiative she set up 6 years ago to “educate, train, and develop the skills of Saudis”.

Alf Khair educates women on how to become independent via seminars and workshops. Princess Reema is revered for her input into charitable and social causes, and was appointed the vice president of women’s affairs at the General Sports Authority before her taking on the role as Saudi’s Ambassador to the US.

“I truly believe that liberty for a woman comes from the ability to make the financial decisions for her life,” states Princess Reema in the campaign, you can watch the full video here:
