Lavender fields, fashion, culture and perfume, there are so many reasons to visit France, and we’re giving all the food aficionados with a penchant for something sweet one more on July 7. Home to some of the masters of the chocolatier world, France is known for producing mouth-watering chocolate in many different forms. The capital Paris even holds the ‘Chocolate Capital’ title and boasts over 300 chocolate shops, more than in any other city in the world.
However, if you happen to be in Dubai instead, the best next thing is to indulge at one of the emirates’ answers to French decadence. From July 4 – 7 French restaurants Publique and Bistro Des Arts will showcase a grand Chocolate Fondue dessert with all the trimmings. Traditional restaurateurs and colleagues-turned-friends Johnathon and Julien have come up with an AED 45 per person formula (there’s a minimum of 2 people), which is for anyone who loves taking pleasurable bites of the sweet treat made from roasted ground cacao beans.
If you head down to Publique in Jumeirah’s Souk Madinat, you can swap their famous gooey cheese Raclette for a chocolate treat. With its woody, Alpine interiors, the restaurant is known for its cool and laid-back approach and diners get a feel of the Alps in the heart of Dubai. The eatery also has a bar and a terrace with breathtaking views of the Burj Al Arab and the Arabian Gulf.
