Saudi Retailer Partners with Luxury E-Tailer in a Lucrative Move

Farfetch is an online luxury retailer that has been making waves ever since it was established in 2007, and now has a staff of over 3000 people, offices in 11 cities, collaborates with over 700 boutiques worldwide and operates in local languages including, English, French, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese, Korean, German, Russian and Spanish.

This month, Farfetch have shared the news of their most recent global collaboration with Saudi Arabian retailer, Rubaiyat. Vice President of Merchandise at Rubaiyat, Christopher Penne said in a statement about the new partnership, “Adding the e-commerce channel to Rubaiyat’s retail platform is essential in order to reach out to a wider audience and improve Rubaiyat customer’s shopping experience. Therefore, we welcomed the opportunity to partner with the world’s leading global technology platform for the luxury fashion industry, Farfetch.”

Edward Sabbagh, who is the Managing Director for the Middle East region at Farfetch also stated, “A year into our localized operations in the Middle East, we are very pleased to have Rubaiyat join the Farfetch platform. Through their highly curated assortment of the world’s best luxury brands, we will be able to further enhance our targeted offer for the Middle East shopper. We will also enable Rubaiyat to leverage our marketplace in order to increase their reach through our global online customer base.”

Rubaiyat is a luxury department store and has a location in both Riyadh and Jeddah, along with operating over 50 franchised boutiques all over the kingdom – and now, for the first time, their collaboration with Farfetch elevates Rubaiyat’s reach on an online platform.
