Check Out This Secret Office Under a Road Bridge in Valencia, Spain

We guess it’s not so secret anymore.

Tired of overcrowded spaces, Spanish architect Fernando Abellanas built himself a little sanctuary right under a rod bridge in the city of Valencia.

The brilliant architect implemented a floating platform that functions by a roller system to get to the office. The small yet savvy space has a table, chair, and shelves fixed to the walls.

Fernando does not have a license for the short living installation, therefore has kept the exact location a secret, all we know is that it is in Valencia. Anyone wants to go bridge hunting in Spain?

The 33-year-old designer said, “This project is short-lived, no license has been requested for its assembly so it will last until the authorities discover and dismantle it or someone breaks or steal it.”

He goes on to explain that he feels attached to these types of spaces, and actively looks for them in the city.  He also notes how exciting it is to feel so close yet so remote at the same time.

The thought process behind this secret office is quite intriguing as Fernando talks about it, “When we discover, analyze and inhabit these places it reminds us of the feelings of isolation, a peace and protection we experienced during childhood when hiding. The purpose of this project was to try and rediscover similar emotions.”

The undisclosed escape took one week to design and then build in the artist's workshop, where he spends most of his time working on projects with artists, architects, and designers offering them design and manufacturing solutions.
