The hottest names in the modelling world simply wowed during the mega fashion event.

Since starting in 1995, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has become one of the biggest events in the fashion calendar. The lingerie showcase that costs nearly $12 million to create will be aired on December 2. It is one of the most watched events of the year, with an estimated 800 million people tuning in annually.

For 2018, after two years abroad, the spectacle returned to New York bigger and better than ever. As well as all the ultra-sexy, sensational lingerie, larger-than-life crazy, bedazzled wings and the totally jaw-dropping Dream Angels Fantasy Bra, there was so much to absorb. For her collaboration with Victoria’s Secret, Greek-born designer Mary Katrantzou, known as the “Queen of Prints”for her whimsical and vibrant pieces, brought some signature elements to the lingerie. Shoe designer Brian Atwood and British make-up guru Charlotte Tilbury added their magic touches to the runway in Pier 94. As the Angels strutted their stuff in Downtown Manhattan, more artists than ever before were invited to sing their greatest hits. Halsey, The Chainsmokers, Shawn Mendes, Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha, Kelsea Ballerini and The Struts all performed during the epic event.

Cindy Bruna

Around 60 models descended on the catwalk in over one hundred looks, with many returning veterans making an appearance. Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Stella Maxwell, Leomie Anderson and Cindy Bruna were all there to support the brand. Other regulars included, Ming Xi, Grace Elizabeth, Devon Windsor, Sara Sampaio, Jasmine Tookes, Candice Swanepoel and Behati Prinsloo, with the latter two making a return after having babies. And after nearly 20 years of walking the runway as one of Victoria's Secret's most iconic models, Adriana Lima did it for the last time this year. Once she swayed down in an all-white bodice with feathery wings, the Brazilian bombshell got clearly emotional and teared up, then blew a farewell kiss to the cameras.

Part-Saudi model Shanina Shaik sizzled as she flaunted her amazing physique, while another model from Australia, Kelly Hale, and Georgia Fowler from neighbouring New Zealand stunned in the dramatic extravaganza too. Alessandra Ambrosio, who hung up her wings last year after being an Angel for 17 years, was notably absent. Lily Aldridge, who is pregnant with her second child, was also missed.

Also on the roster were millennial models of the moment, Gigi and Bella Hadid, who made history as the first sisters to walk the Victoria’s Secret runway two years ago, and Kendall Jenner. They all reunited on the runway once again, making it the second time they walk together. Bella, who walked last year’s show in Shanghai, looked so divine in an ethereal winter-themed aquamarine lingerie set with frosty feathered wing that her boyfriend, The Weeknd, gave her a standing ovation. For the other look, she rocked black-and-white lingerie with a cropped bomber jacket.

Gigi, who missed last year’s show due to reported visa issues, stood out in a show-stopping floral bodysuit, which was paired with a parachute-for-wings extension - Alexina Graham and Josephine Skriver were other models seen in crazy parachute wings. The half-Palestinian star also wore an intricate Scottish-inspired plaid number.

Kendall, who also missed last year’s show because of her contract with La Perla, wore an outfit with vibes from The Highlands too. A plaid bra and a matching mini kilt were matched with a flowing piece of fabric. The beautiful 23-year-old brunette also stunned in black feather wings with shimmering pop-up stars to go with her lacy black lingerie.

Winnie Harlow

This year’s show also gifted us with lots of fresh talent as over 15 newcomers made their Victoria's Secret debut. Canadian Winnie Harlow, one of the most famous faces to join the renowned stage, made history by becoming the first model with vitiligo to walk the lingerie giant’s fashion show. The 24-year-old dazzled in skimpy pink lingerie, feathers and a shiny silver camisole, as well as a floral cut-out catsuit with matching bra. Another newbie, Kelsey Merritt, also smashed a record by becoming the first Filipina Angel. The budding supermodel walked in a light blue bra under a silver top and matching shorts for the PINK segment of the show. Fenty Beauty model Duckie Thot, Sadie Newman, Lorena Rae, Mélie Tiaco, Willow Hand and Yasmin Wijnaldum were some of the other first-timers.

The 2018 Dream Angels Fantasy Bra

Swedish model Elsa Hosk landed the coveted role of wearing the 2018 Dream Angels Fantasy Bra. The stunning 30-year-old, who first walked the catwalk for the lingerie company in 2015, looked bedazzling in the bra designed by Atelier Swarovski. This year’s fantasy bra is made from over 2,100 100% Swarovski-created diamonds and responsibly sourced topaz, with a total of 71 carats woven into its body. The history-making bra took over 930 hours to create. While its worth $1 million, the great new is for the first time ever, Victoria’s Secret is going to sell a similar bra made with Swarovski crystals for $250, which will be available in select retails stores and online on November 29.

The After-Party

Romee Strijd

Following the runway show, the Angels, show musicians and attendees let their hair down and had the chance to unwind at Pier 94 during the after-party. And as they posed on the pink carpet, enjoyed some drinks and danced to the DJ set by QUESTLOVE, it was clear they were dressed to impress. The finery, perfect for some New Year’s Eve inspo, ranged from full-on gowns to mini-dresses and suits.
