If you’re a mum on-the-go, these brilliant, quick, easy and budget-friendly beauty fixes are for you.

There are the school runs, after school activities, meetings and seemingly endless list of errands. So it’s not unusual for super mums to suddenly spot strands of grey hair while walking past the mirror or forget to remove that chipped nail polish or pick up some foundation. Finding the time to keep looking our best can be a real challenge, but since for many of us looking good equals feeling good, it’s important to find sneaky quick and easy ways to keep a beauty regimen going.  Enter these effortless (because with limited sleep that’s always handy), timesaving and budget efficient hacks every busy mum will find helpful.

1. Keep some coconut oil handy:
Coconut oil can work as an all over intensive body moisturiser, leaving you with the softest skin. You can also use it as a deep-conditioning hair cure around once a week by leaving it in your hair overnight.

2. Make eyeliner your go-to beauty product:
As well enhancing your eyes, swiping some eyeliner on, which you can learn to do in a jiffy, helps to hide those (inevitable) sleepless night. Colourful eyeliners are particularly effective at making your eyes look bigger and brighter.

3. Braid your hair at night:
Sleeping with braided hair will help create beautiful, wavy hair without the need for a hairdryer. This is a great trick for women with long hair, who don’t have the time or patience to style it.

4. Buy multi-functional products:
A lot of moisturisers come with sunscreen these days, plus there are the tinted moisturisers that can double up as foundation. Cutting down two or even three skin steps into one is ultra useful for those rushed moments when time just isn’t on your side.

5. Look for products you can easily put in your bag:
We are forever thankful for those who invented time and space-saving beauty gems like nail polish remover wipes and face cleansing wipes. Always try and keep some in your bag as they can come to the rescue when you remember your nails are chipped just as you walk out the door on the day of an important meeting.

6. Create perfect brows with lip balm and a toothbrush:
After applying a generous amount of balm over your brows, just brush them into place using a clean toothbrush. By using upward strokes, you can get gorgeous brows in seconds.

7. Use baby powder instead of false eyelashes:
We love falsies, but they require a bit of time and calmness, which are usually in short supply for us harried mums. If you apply some baby powder with cotton buds onto your lashes between coats of a good volumising mascara, the powder acts as a natural thickening agent.

8. Get the eyeshadow out to cover grey hair:
A trip to the hair salon to colour hair requires a few hours, hours that are difficult to squeeze in between all those tasks. So until you’re able to do so, find the eyeshadow shade closest to your hair colour. Then, using an eyeshadow brush or sponge tip applicator, lightly dab the hairs all around the shaft.

9. Use hairspray to keep make-up set:
You were just about able to put on your make-up in the morning, but finding the time to touch it up during the day can get pretty impossible. Locking in your make-up with hairspray is an effective old-school make-up artist's trick. If you don’t like the idea of hairspray, there are many good setting sprays out there.

10. Pat on some baby oil for dewy skin:
If you want a fresh look but don’t have time for an invigorating hike, or long for the kind of dewy skin you saw on the recent fashion shows, all you need is a few drops of baby oil. Apply some on your cheekbones and voila, what’s more, it has fantastic anti-ageing properties.
