Congratulations are in order to this year’s Billboard Music Awards winners, especially those who pulled off some major victories. We’re talking about seriously impressive stuff like Ed Sheeran taking home several awards, including Top Artist and Top Male Artist, and SZA defeating Rihanna and Beyoncé to become the Top R&B Female Artist. The 20 May event to celebrate some of music’s biggest names was also chock-full of exciting performances, including the first televised one in nine years from Icon Award winner Janet Jackson.
Kelly Clarkson and Dua Lipa, two of the other performers at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, also stunned us with some of the amazing night’s most memorable looks. Clarkson, the event’s host, opted for a long gown with a dramatic structural neckline, thick patent belt and thigh-high slit, while “Homesick” singer Lipa went for an 80s style metallic purple dress with puffy sleeves, oversized bow and plunging neckline. Other celebrities who wore gorgeous long, shimmering numbers included Padma Lakshmi and Hailey Baldwin. Taylor Swift, who won Top Female Artist and Top Selling Album, also made sure to stand out in long dress for her surprise red carpet return. The pink gown featured feathers, beading, asymmetrical sleeves and a revealing slit.
Another standout look came from Grace VanderWaal , who meant business in a pinstripe power suit, adding a glitzy spin to the androgynous look with embellished socks and metallic platforms. Jennifer Lopez rocked in a maroon shirt, matching PVC skirt and sky-high boots, while Demi Lovato chose a different kind of animal print. Two of the other best-dressed attendees, Alison Brie and Camila Cabello, who earned the Billboard Chart Achievement Award, opted for eye-catching black and white. And as well as going for short black options with studded embellishments, Mila Kunis and Jenna Diwan showed off new and exciting hair dos.
