How To Survive Calories Being Printed on Dubai Menus

The Dubai Municipality and Health Authority are working on a policy to force restaurants to reveal the number of calories in each dish. You may as well say goodbye to your favourite restaurants now, because you’ll probably lose your appetite when you see how much you’ve really been eating. But don’t worry, these healthy restaurants will keep you full and satisfied.

One Café, by Life ‘n One

This café is in a garden by a Jumeirah wellness centre. It’s super healthy and cuts out anything that could conceivably be seen as unhealthy. One Café has gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free and vegan food. The good news is that they aren’t yum-free.

Cycle Hub

This restaurant has a mostly paleo menu, without complex carbohydrates, but also has vegan options to choose from. It’s been recommended by fitness experts around the city who love Cycle Hub’s nutritious food.

Under 500

The food here is not only delicious, everything on the menu is also under 500 calories. Try the lettuce tacos, wraps and salads that are full of fresh, nutritious ingredients that will keep your taste buds happy. Bonus: They have yummy desserts, also under 500 calories.

Common Grounds

Common Grounds has a menu full of healthy food that proves that you don’t have to eat less to get fit. The Greens and Grains Salad is particularly nutritious, with quinoa tabbouleh, cashews, pumpkin seeds, goji berries and spring beans.

The Salad Jar

You’d be surprised by how much deliciousness can fit into a small jar. These treats are all over, from the Ripe Market to Surf House – and you can get the food delivered to your home, too.

KCal

KCal is one step ahead of the game, it has been printing calories on its menu for a long time, and it’s actually uplifting to see. The food is generally low-cal and the main meals are full of protein that are perfect for people hitting the gym.
