King Salman Announces $493 Million Of Ramadan Aid In Saudi Arabia

With the holy month of Ramadan in full swing, King Salman confirmed the disbursement of 1.85 billion riyals ($492.6 million) in "Ramadan aid" to social security beneficiaries in Saudi Arabia. According to the Saudi Press Agency, providers in the family will get 1,000 riyals and each family member will get 500 riyals each.

With the increase of layoffs during the pandemic, many households in KSA and around the world are facing financial troubles as they struggle to make ends meet. In the spirit of Ramadan, the Saudi government continues to give back towards its people and these funds will relieve a tad bit the economic anxiety of bringing food to the table everyday.

Upon the start of Ramadan, the Kingdom also distributed food baskets abroad to insure that worshippers around the world will not face hunger and have an iftar meal everyday. Countries in which the Dawah and Guidance project is live include, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Argentina. Ali bin Awadah Al Shamrani, the director at the Argentinian King Fahd Islamic Cultural Center, stated that the program has targeted and reached over 4,000 people by distributing 400 food baskets to sustain the requirements of Muslim families during Ramadan.
