1. The Arabian Peninsula is the world’s largest peninsula.

2. The Saudi king’s official title is that of “Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.”

3. Saudi Arabia is the largest country in the world without a river – but there are many wadis and huge coastlines on the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.

The last well-documented eruption in Saudi Arabia occurred in the northern end of Harrat Rahat near Medina in 1256 AD / 654 AH and continued for 52 days. 13. Although it’s rare, temperatures can actually drop drastically in Saudi Arabia and it can even snow or hail in areas like Tabuk.

14. The Ghawar oil field is the largest in the world and it has enough reserves to fill, wait for it, 4,770,897 Olympic swimming pools! The kingdom's oil reserves are huge.

21. Saudi Arabia is very young: About half of the country is under the age of 24 and only 5% of the population over 60.
