Following Retirement from Music, Elissa Might Have Netflix in Her Sights

Elissa recently made a major announcement in which she spoke of her next album being her last and her resignation from music. Taking to social media to announce her retirement from the music industry, she stated, “I am preparing this new album with a lot of love and passion. The reason is that it will be the last one in my career. I am announcing this with a heavy heart but with a lot of conviction because I can’t work in a field that is similar to mafias. I can’t be productive anymore,” which hinted at some controversy surrounding her decision to quit music.

However, Elissa is quite the jack of all trades as her latest Instagram post has led to the confirmation that she will be joining Netflix’s hit show, Money Heist otherwise known as La Casa De Papel. The exciting news came via her post in which she snapped a short video of a gift hamper by her team, which included the show’s famous Salvador Dali mask and a red card with a message that read, “The third season's ending left the professor broken and you surprised. But have hope, because the fourth season will make you the happiest. To the queen of emotions, or whom we now call Beirut.”

Writing to her 14 million followers, Elissa also captioned the video of her hamper with, “I am ready to be part of the gang with the professor and the team! Thank you @NetflixMENA and @lacasadepapel. Nairobi, we’re coming to save you. Love, Beirut!” With Netflix MENA responding with “Beirut, the time is yours! Welcome aboard,” imitating the way the show uses names of cities for their characters.

Le Casa De Papel first hit our screens in May of 2017, and has become the most watched, non-English, series in the history of the streaming platform and Elissa had actually dropped a hint that no one would have guessed in July as she watched the show, by tweeting, “Spending the night watching La Casa De Papel season 3 on Netflix. If you were with the professor, which city would you name yourself after in the gang? I would definitely go for Beirut! Suits me, no?”
