Cara Delevingne

Like many stars at the awards ceremony, Cara Delevingne opted for a retro look. The model and actor, who was one of the big night’s presenters, went all out with all-over Debbie Harry-inspired vivid purple eyeshadow, as well as lashings of mascara, loads of blush and bright coral lipstick. However, it was the alluring hairstyle with relaxed curls and side parting that got us investigating how Danielle Priano, the New York-based hairstylist of the stars, created Delevingne’s classic glam waves with a modern twist.

Becky G

Becky G looked seriously gorgeous as she picked up the trophy for Favourite Female Artist – Latin. The 23-year-old, who made history as it’s the first time the category has been included, kept her beauty look ultra-simple and bronzy. Her warm-toned make-up featured a glowy base, lustrous lips and a subtle shimmer on her peepers. We also loved the soft and glamorous old-school Hollywood waves.

Paris Hilton

Another A-lister honouring old-Hollywood, Paris Hilton looked really sophisticated in a 60s-inspired side-swept, sky-high ponytail. The “I Blame You” hitmaker and entrepreneur’s hairstyle, by her go-to hairstylist Eduardo Ponce, was teamed with a make-up look featuring long lashes, a nude lip, delicate shimmery eyes and bold eyeliner, by celebrity make-up artist Etienne Ortega. The 39-year-old star described her look for the evening as ‘Glam Barbie’.

Dua Lipa

Keeping to the theme of her ocean-inspired frock, which was embellished with colourful shiny starfish patterns, Dua Lipa served 2020-style icy-blue eyeshadow. The Favourite Song – Pop/Rock winner, who beamed her disco-like performance of “Levitating” from an empty Royal Albert Hall during the event, finished off her beauty look with sleek black eyeliner and a pink lippie. Additionally, the English songstress’s dark hair was slicked back and fastened with a gold barrette to complement her fun and sparkly dress.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez’s skillfully messy wet hair look seemed to be the talk of the 2020 AMAs. The star’s unique, effortless and sultry wet bob was created by her hair stylist Chris Appleton, who thankfully posted an entire breakdown of how to get the look on Instagram. For make-up, the superstar, who put on a sexy show with a “Flashdance” feel while performing her latest songs “Pa' Ti” and “Lonely” with Maluma, went for warm bronzed tones. Contrasting with her metallic outfit, the make-up look by Mary Phillips included a smokey eye, a tan lipstick colour and standout eyeliner.

Taraji P. Henson

Taraji P. Henson, this year’s host, spoilt us with 12 incredible looks throughout the show, however, it’s her red carpet look that made us do the most double takes. The star, 50, raised the bar for awards show beauty by pairing a luxe turban with dramatic and fluttery eyelashes, glowy lids, defined cat-eye eyeliner and a smokey, smudged detail on the lower lash line. The neutral toned Studio 54 era-inspired look came with a radiant complexion and a pop of colour on the cheekbones. Ashunta Sheriff-Kendricks, Henson’s go-to make-up artist, is another kind creative to share the complete breakdown of the look on Instagram.

Kristin Cavallari

Kristin Cavallari looked absolutely gorgeous at this year’s AMAs. When it came to red carpet beauty, she opted for a nude make-up look with a neutral smokey eye, featuring a shimmery bronze eyeshadow and a nude lipstick. The uber soft and dreamy look, which included a flawless base and finish, was the work of Kate Synnott, who focused on blending out any harsh lines. The presenter at the awards ceremony complemented her make-up with a beachy relaxed and wavy textured ponytail, styled by Justine Marjan.

Whether this sparkly creation was hers or not, one thing’s for sure, the star, who nabbed five nominations and won the award for Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop, turned up ready to command attention. As well as festive silver glitter, the rapper’s eye make-up included some fierce eyeliner and hard-to-ignore eyelashes. Megan Thee Stallion’s look was completed with glossy lipstick and standout lip liner.
