Riyadh Saw The Introduction of Mawhiba's "Talents of Architecture and Design" Programme

Mawhiba, the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, recently launched an innovative initiative known as the "Talents of Architecture and Design" program in Riyadh. This program aims to provide a platform for intermediate and secondary school students with exceptional talents in architecture and design to flourish.

In an important collaboration, Mawhiba has partnered with the Architecture and Design Commission, operating under the Ministry of Culture, to bring this program to life. Sumaya Alsulaiman, the CEO of the Architecture and Design Commission, expressed the significance of this partnership, as it allows them to cater specifically to the needs of gifted young individuals interested in architecture and design.

Khalid Al-Sharif, the director general of Mawhiba's Center for Excellence, highlighted one of the foundation's key objectives, which is to build partnerships that nurture and empower the talents of its members. The "Talents of Architecture and Design" program is seen as a fundamental step towards enhancing creativity and innovation in architecture and design, with the hope that it will foster a new generation of creative thinkers and designers.

The program itself sets forth several objectives. Firstly, it aims to lay the groundwork for a comprehensive journey of skill development in architecture and design, encouraging students to approach challenges with creative thinking. Additionally, the program seeks to familiarize participants with various terminologies and concepts related to planning, urban design, architecture, interior design, sustainability, and environmental design.

To ensure maximum impact, the foundation plans to integrate the program with academic courses during the summer. More than 130 talented male and female students are set to benefit from this opportunity. The participants will be divided into six groups across three cities in Saudi Arabia: Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.

The program, spanning three weeks, is set to commence on Sunday. Collaborating with leading universities in the Kingdom, such as King Saud University, Prince Sultan University, Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, and King Abdulaziz University, Mawhiba aims to provide the students with a well-rounded and enriching learning experience.

Through the "Talents of Architecture and Design" program, Mawhiba and its partners aspire to shape the future of architecture and design in the Kingdom by nurturing the creative potential of gifted young minds and preparing them to contribute innovative and sustainable designs to society.
