Here’s Saudi Arabia’s Progression On Its NEOM Megaproject So Far…

Since Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the plans for Saudi Arabia’s megaproject, NEOM, at the Future Investment Initiative conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2017, the project has come leaps and bounds in its progress and is fast becoming a point of interest and wonder to the rest of the world. Moreover, proving its efficiency in bringing the futuristic project to life, real life footage of its construction has been released.

Initially, plans of NEOM were conveyed via 3D renderings of what the space would look like, as well as updates of its progress – but now, Saudi Arabia wants the world to see just how far its come, and for the first time, we’re getting a direct image of how the megaproject is developing. Currently in its building phase, the images are causing excitement for the project to finally be completed.

In a short video, aerial footage of the epic construction across NEOM regions convey the progress on the futuristic city, The Line, mountain destination Trojena, Oxagon—a center for advanced industries, and luxury island Sindalah, which is due to open in 2024. “We want to show the world that Neom is really happening,” reads the statement on the project’s website.

CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr also shares, “If we are to solve the challenges of tomorrow, we must face up to them today, no matter how difficult they may seem. At Neom, we are addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing humanity by bringing together a community of the brightest minds committed to reimagining what a sustainable future will look like in 20 to 30 years, and building it today. We are redefining the future now. Neom is open for business.”

According to the site, more videos updating the world on NEOM’s progress will be coming up as part of a series – and the video of its progress so far can be viewed here.
