Work on The Mall of Saudi, which will one of the world’s largest malls, has officially kicked off. The next-generation integrated shopping mall, located in the booming Al Narjis District in North Riyadh, is set to become a prime destination for retail, leisure and entertainment.

The Mall of Saudi, which is slated to open in 2024, will have over 600 retail stores across its whopping 300,000m² gross leasable area. Being built by UAE-based retail giant Majid Al-Futtaim, which is working with global infrastructure consulting firm AECOM, the mall will house renowned brands as well up-and-coming ones making their debut in the market. Whether looking for fashion, home styling or electronics, shoppers will have a serious wealth of choice at the lifestyle venue, which is estimated to cost around SR8.3billion. Additionally, consumers will be able to find all their household needs in the 9,000m² flagship French hypermarket Carrefour.

However, The Mall of Saudi will be extending visitors a lot more than fabulous shopping, as it will also be home to some amazing restaurants, cafes and leisure and entertainment spots. The easily accessible mall, which will have dedicated bus stops and a shuttle to the nearest metro station, will have a dedicated 33,200 m² dining space. This will accommodate a range of eateries, including those in the Paradise Water Garden, where guests can find semi-formal and formal dining options amidst lots of greenery and water. Additionally, there’s the Food Loft, a food hall offering freshly cooked food, and The Park Café, featuring fast food outlets and restaurants. Meanwhile, leisure opportunities include a 40,000 m² indoor ski slope and snow park, the Middle East’s largest. The Snow Park will feature a Penguinarium where the young and young-at-heart can meet and learn about the Mall of Saudi’s resident penguins. Magic Planet will be the place to be for some fun, entertainment and education, while Little Explorers is where to head to boost young ones’ understanding, physical and cognitive skills via immersive educational experiences. Visitors will also be able to catch the latest Hollywood, Bollywood and Arabic movies in 2D, 3D, 4DX and extra-large screen formats at the VOX Cinemas.

The Mall of Saudi, which will create approximately 16,000 direct jobs once operational, will have a five-star luxury hotel with 275 rooms too, As well as great ski views and top notch ski chalets, guests will get to enjoy customised services, smart and digital technologies. The hotel will also boast a spa, exercise options and The Social Haven, a space for personal work or collaboration. What’s more, the shopping centre will even have 2,000 residential units with two dwelling-style options, the Garden Terraces and Terraced Apartments, all with practical day-to-day facilities. Garden Terraces will be low-rise, steeping buildings with extensive terraces and rooftop foliage, while the Terraced Apartments are more urban-style. The hotel and the residential units will have direct access to the mall.
