Saudi Arabia's Culture Ministry announced the awarding of 149 new scholarships to Saudi male and female students at prestigious overseas schools. The prize is part of the ministry's cultural scholarship program. With 74 percent of the new scholarships going to female students, the latest round is dominated by women.
According to the ministry, 50% of male and female students participating in the program are undergraduates, while 49% are seeking master's degrees. Arab News also reported that they are pursuing degrees in a variety of artistic disciplines. Archaeology, design, museums, music, theater, filmmaking, literature, visual and culinary arts will all be available as Ph.D., bachelor's, and master's degree programs.
