Saudi Concert Goers Give Tamer Hosny a Warm Welcome

Tamer Hosny, the famous Egyptian pop star was warmly welcomed on Friday by his fans at King Abdullah Economic City with over 5000 youth attending his concert, about 60 percent of which were women.

Speaking to reporters, he expressed his happiness at being selected to perform at Saudi Arbia’s first family concert, adding that Saudis are distinguished by the music they enjoy. Ever since he was received at Jeddah airport, Hosny said he has already felt the true brotherly emotions that Saudi people share with Egyptian people. He also noted that he wouldn’t mind collaborating with other Saudi poets and musicians on a song in a Saudi dialect, “just like any international singer I would like to work with Saudi poets and musicians who have beautiful senses.” He described the night as “exceptional” which conveys to the whole world, the elegance of the Saudi audience.

Hosny started the evening with his song “My Eyes Love You!” followed by his popular song “Each Time”. He addressed the audience by announcing, “Your interaction and beautiful welcome made me feel as if I am standing on the stage for the first time.” Hosny also performed the Saudi song, originally by Mohammad Abdo, “Far Away” which generated a positive reaction from the audience. The concert was organized under the supervision of the General Entertainment Authority.

The audience’s seats were prepared in a sequence of red, white and black to represent the Egyptian flag to welcome Hosny to the Kingdom. Besides being a pop star, Hosny is also a songwriter, actor, producer and a judge in the Arabic version of “The Voice Kids” show on MBC1. Jeddah is expected to host three other concerts including Mohamed Hamaki, Wael Jassar, Saber Al-Rubai, Abadi Al-Jawhar and Waled Al-Shami.
