Ascia Al Faraj Collaborates With Aigner on Limited Edition Bag

Team work really does make the dream work.

Ascia Al Faraj for Aigner

With a new collaboration with Aigner, the brand famous for high quality German luxury lifestyle products, Ascia Al Faraj is part of yet another fashion dream team. The half-Kuwaiti half-American social media influencer, who is more commonly known by her alias Ascia AKF, has joined forces with the creator of classic, stylish and contemporary handbags that come with a horseshoe signature to create a limited edition bag.

The bag, aplty called “Ascia,” is based on the classic “Genoveva” design, a regional success, from AIGNER’s main collection. And Al Faraj, one of the region’s most popular fashion bloggers, with one of the most influential fashion voices in the region, has brought her own personal style to the vintage clip lock-shaped bag. Working together with Creative Director Christian Alexander Beck, she chose the colour, style and pattern, cementing her unique and statement-making panache. The eye-catching bag features a marble print effect on smooth grain leather. Plus, the multi-purpose bag graces a metal handle with AIGNER statement bolts and comes with an extra pendant with bolts and cabochons. What’s more, the rear side of the pendant and inside of the bag is embossed with "Ascia exclusively for AIGNER" inscribed in rosé-gold.

Beck has spoken out about why Al Faraj is the perfect fit for an alliance with the almost 50-year company founded by Etienne Aigner. The Creative Director described one of the region’s major trendsetters as “an inspiration, keeping traditions alive yet being open-minded towards modern ideas.”

Al Faraj, who has over 2 million followers on Instagram, has also said how excited she is about the collaboration. “The “Genoveva” bag is so versatile, and I had so much fun playing around with the colours and patterns,” she said. “The bag is a perfect reflection of my style and AIGNER’s craftsmanship.”

The turban wearing style icon initiated the personal style blog wave in the region when she launched a blog in 2012 called The Hybrids.  Al Faraj quickly became a fashion reference for all hijabi women by proving a head cover can be an added, chic bonus. She runs the fashion and lifestyle blog with her husband, Ahmed, in her spare time. The couple opted to call themselves The Hybrids because of their half-half backgrounds. Ahmad is half-Kuwaiti and half-Latino.
