Could This Be the Most Haunted Hotel Room in London?

Room 333. Langham Hotel. For numerous people, these two words together spell terror. Horrors unimaginable. But what’s so unspeakable about room 333? What really happened here?

The Langham Hotel
Considered one of the first grand hotels in England, the Langham was constructed in the year 1865. The hotel is situated just opposite the home of the BBC and is one of the most luxurious hotels in the city. Several esteemed personalities including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Mark Twain, and Oscar Wilde are said to have visited the hotel.

Several ghosts are said to haunt the hotel- these are frequently sighted by guests. Here are some of the most famous ones.

The Ghosts of the Langham
It is said that Emperor Napoleon III, in the last days of his exile, stayed at the place. His ghost, many believe, is seen haunting the basement of the hotel.

A BBC announcer claims to have seen the ghost of a doctor who supposedly murdered his wife when they were on their honeymoon and then killed himself. The ghost, it is said, makes appearances in the month of October.

Some people claim that the most active amongst the spirits haunting the hotel is the ghost of a German prince who committed suicide by jumping out from the window of the fourth floor. He is often seen walking through the doors in the wee hours of the morning. Interestingly enough, people have noted a sudden drop in the temperature when he walks through the closed doors!

Many have also spotted a man with a terrifying gaping wound. He’s frequently seen roaming the hallway.

Room 333
The room 333 is particularly notorious for hosting paranormal activity. An occupant sleeping in the room was once shaken by a ghost in the dead of the night. Terrified, he fled the hotel immediately!

It is said that the number 333 may also be to blame as far as the ghost encounters are concerned. The number 333 represents the Holy Trinity- double the number and it represents the devil.

Many also consider 3:33 am to be the time when demonic forces are the most active. Whatever be the reason, room 333 is certainly an unsolved mystery that still puzzles people.

The Langham hotel once again garnered headlines in 2014 when the English Cricket Team witnessed strange occurrences in the course of their stay in the hotel. Room 333 remains a mystery till date!
