The Bicester Collection Partners With CNMI For The Sustainable Fashion Awards 2023

The annual CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards took place in Milan, Italy, on September 24th, celebrating brands and organizations committed to sustainable fashion.

The Bicester Collection Award for Emerging Designers was presented to Priya Ahluwalia during the event. Ahluwalia, a pioneer in sustainable fashion, utilizes vintage, recycled, upcycled, and sustainable materials to create pieces that blend her Indian-Nigerian heritage with her London roots. The award provides Ahluwalia with long-term support, including mentorship, participation in a pop-up boutique, and a showcase during Milano Fashion Week in 2024.

Desirée Bollier, Chair and Global Chief Merchant for Value Retail Management, emphasized their commitment to supporting emerging talent, praising Ahluwalia's impact on the industry through her innovative design and sustainable practices. Carlo Capasa, Chairman of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, praised the partnership with The Bicester Collection, aligning with CNMI's vision for an environmentally conscious and socially responsible fashion landscape.

Over the years, The Bicester Collection has supported 18 Italian and international designers, promoting talent and positive social, economic, and environmental impacts. Besides Ahluwalia, the award also recognized two other finalists:

SO-LE STUDIO, a Milan-based jewelry brand that uses upcycled leather and brass leftovers from luxury brands, demonstrating a commitment to a circular economy and sustainability.

Made For A Woman, a social entrepreneurship project empowering women in Madagascar through female craftsmanship, sustainable materials, and various support services, advocating for environmental justice and women's rights.

The Bicester Collection, in collaboration with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, continues to support these designers who are reshaping the fashion industry with their creativity and sustainable practices.
