3 International Cuisine Ideas for an Iftar in Dubai

Variety is the spice of life and thankfully there’s a world of choice when it comes to savoury Iftars in Dubai.

Dubai is known for hosting people from all corners of the world. Luckily for us foodies, it also has an abundance of restaurants serving the best international cuisine, making it so easy to spread your culinary wings. Here are three ideas to get your journey started.

Japanese Bites At Atisuto

With three Atisuto restaurants across Dubai, located at The Galleria Mall, Al Ghurair Centre and Bay Square, it’s super easy to find one close by so you can enjoy their Ramadan offerings.

The Japanese eatery is extending a delicious six-course menu throughout the Holy Month. Guests are invited to kickstart the Iftar experience with the Youkoso welcome dish, comprising Shiro Bara and dates, followed by Mushroom Cream Soup and Japanese Green Salad with apple dressing. Then it’s time to sample the Starter platter, which features Atisuto favourites including Chicken Yakitori, Nasu Dengaku, Gyoza, Spring Roll and Ebi Tempura. The main course is the ever-popular Yakisoba and Dynamite Prawn. However, ensure to leave enough room so you can complete the meal with a sweet refresher, Matcha Crème Brûlée.

A Taste Of Ancient India At Bombay Brasserie

Perhaps the only thing better than an Indian meal is an Indian meal steeped in history and heritage. And fortunately, the Bombay Brasserie, located at the Taj Hotel, has concocted an Iftar for you to delight in a culinary tribute to the flavours of the ancient Moghul Empire while surrounded by warm Indian hospitality. The recipes have been developed from the only two surviving manuscripts written by King Shahjahan’s royal chefs in the 17th Century.

Working closely with students and professors from Jamia Milia Ismaia University Delhi, Sous Chef Thoufeek Zakriya, a historian and calligrapher, painstakingly translated a few key recipes from the original manuscript. This has allowed the Bombay Brasserie team to replicate the heritage of Indian gastronomy with the Royal Nuskha-E-Shah Jahani Iftar menu. Highlights of the menu include Kofte Shahi Mahi, grilled fish kebab flavoured with cinnamon, fennel seeds, sesame oil and ghee, and Kebab Baida Murg, chicken kebab coated with egg white and glazed with goat fat. Trying the flavour-packed menu also means capturing a taste of Yakhni Teh Bala, rice cooked with fragrant goat stock infused with ghee and cloves.

Turkish Delights At Günaydin Dubai

Günaydin Dubai, a new restaurant in Souk Al Bahar, is the place to enjoy Turkish delicacies during the Holy month of Ramadan while taking in breathtaking views of the Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa.

The eatery, the pioneer of the ‘steakhouse’ concept in Turkey, is serving a well-crafted set menu that offers a wide variety of Turkey’s finest dishes. This includes Örgü Peyniri (braided cheese), Fıstıklı Kebap (lamb kebab with pistachio) and Fıstıklı Kadayıf (shredded wheat in syrup served with clotted cream and nuts). What’s more, you can also watch the chefs create a tempting range of kebabs and grill specialties at the open kitchen. Plus, you can enjoy more time with your family and friends by sipping on some specialty teas.
