For two weeks every summer, tennis's heavy hitters battle it out at London’s All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club to secure that highly coveted Wimbledon trophy. And after the Duchess of Cambridge opened this year's championship, the high-profile matches on the Centre Court have become a magnet for celebrities. And as usual, while enjoying the thrilling games and strawberries and cream, the constellation of stars and sports world heroines showed that they’re winners when it comes to style streaks too.

While looking on from the stands, several stars displayed how a dress length makes all the difference with their on-trend midi dresses. Ellie Goulding, who brought a celebrity high note to the championships, rocked one with a floral print. Joely Richardson, however, opted for a floaty number with a vibrant pattern. “Strictly Come Dancing” presenter Tess Daly went for pastel pink, one of the ice cream hues making big news this summer, with her trouser suit offering inspo for just about any outing.

Yet there were also some celebrities who proved how much pulling power timeless colours and pieces have. Perennial Wimbledon attendee Pippa Middleton opted for classic tennis white, which will always be a top summer choice, wearing a pretty ruffled eyelet sundress featuring an A-line silhouette. Then there’s Poppy Delevingne proving a polo T-shirt will always have you looking your casual best.
