Eggs & Soldiers, the Solution for Parents Looking for Eco-Friendly Products Under One Roof

Knowing there’s a shop that sells all kinds of eco-friendly, homegrown and high quality products will put a smile on every mum’s face.

Using more natural ingredients and less pesticides, chemicals and other harmful ingredients, organic baby products are usually the first choice for mums, who naturally want the best for their young ones. So it isn’t a surprise to learn Eggs & Soldiers has opened its first standalone store in Dubai following the huge success of its online shopping platform and former pop-up concept store.

As well as selling eco-friendly, organic and sustainable baby products under one roof, the store, which is located in Times Square Centre, is full of locally produced gems. “In my experience, modern day parents largely want to use the most ethical and chemical-free items, on and for their children, but not everyone has the time to research and shop around for those things. That’s where Eggs & Soldiers steps in,” Sofia Chabowski, the Founder says.

The store’s ethos is to simply offer ‘A More Natural Way’. “Organic is trendy, but often equates to a sub-standard product, higher price tags and little more than clever marketing,” Chabowski, a businesswoman and supermum to four children under five, says. “Eggs & Soldiers is committed to offering only the most eco- aware, yet highest quality baby products around. And, every single item you will find for sale in our store or on our site has been tested by myself and my four (very different) children.”

The Little Green Sheep natural mattresses, cute and quirky Blade & Rose leggings and Haakaa silicone breast pumps are just some of the items that can be found in the store. Close, Boba, Hana, Tula and Ergobaby carriers are also available, as are various Four Cow Farm, Weleda and Tisserand products. Furniture, essential items for bathing and feeding, playtime equipment and accessories can be located too.

A Focus on Cloth Diapers
The core of the concept, however, is cloth diapers, and the store stocks Blueberry, Little Lamb and BumGenius cloth diaper kits. Chabowski is known for her passion for cloth diapering, something she has been pioneering in the region since becoming a mother and launching her business in 2014. The latest research predicts disposable diapers take somewhere between 200 and 500 years to break down in landfills. What’s more, nappy brands aren’t legally required to reveal the chemical components contained in their products. So Chabowski has become an ambassador for cloth diapering in the UAE due to her regular workshops on the subject and now aims to plan more informative events in the new store.

“Education is really at the core of everything we do,” she says. “We aim to educate people so they can make informed decisions. I wants Eggs & Soldiers’ parents to fully understand the choices available to them, and be given real life advice, rather than a sales pitch. That’s really not our way at all.”

A lifelong Dubai resident, Chabowski also makes sure Eggs & Soldiers proudly supports fellow UAE-born businesses by stocking locally-produced products, such as Baby-Lu teething necklaces and Love By Jo nursing covers.

Why Buy Organic?
A baby’s skin absorbs and loses moisture much easier and faster than an adult’s as it’s considerably thinner, making it more fragile and less supple and strong than adult skin. Since a baby’s skin hasn’t developed the barriers adult skin has, everything you put on a little one’s skin is absorbed much more quickly into their bloodstream. This includes all of the chemicals in the popular over-the-counter baby products.
