Sushi? Gelato? What About Both? Discover This Cafés Crazy Ice Cream Creations

For sushi lovers and every sweet tooth out there, Gelarto, a creative cafe in New York, has created sushi shaped bonbons that have no seafood in them but look very much like the real thing. By combining the worldís love for Italian and Japanese cuisine, Gelarto has created sushi-looking ice cream you can eat with, yes, a pair of chopsticks.

According to the website NY Eater, ìfresh farm-raised Swedish fishî is the selling point on top of the ìgelato sushiî at this gelato shop located in the East Village (145 Avenue A). The precision of each gelato sushi roll is incredible and, with 46 flavors available at this moment to try, youíre bound to find your favorite. Colorful and elaborate, these mini treats are available in a variety of flavors including mango and coconut.

The gelato sushi isn't the only unusual sweet treat on Gelarto's menu. Owner Luca Grassi, who has been making gelato in Italy since 1986, also offers the classic gelato on brioche, something he has coined the ìbrioche waffle hybrid sandwich,î which is as interesting as it sounds. It has a brioche bun toasted like a waffle, stuffed with your favorite ice cream, and served with a dollop of fresh whipped cream. The ice cream parlor also has amazing customized gelato cakes and ice cream in a range of flavors like pistachio, key lime, cinnamon, apple pie, and more.

The artisan ice cream shop prides itself not only for its creativity but for using the best quality ingredients as well. On its official site, it claims to use ìnothing but the finest ingredients, fresh or whole fruit wherever possible blended with pure, crisp Piemonte water or creamy, fresh milk from our own herd of dairy cows, while the only preservative we ever use is very cold air.

Check out their Instagram page and feast your eyes on their full range of delicious treats.
